California State Form DE 9C
California State Form DE 9C

California's DE 9C form is distinct from Federal 941, required quarterly for wage reporting.

What is the DE 9C?

The state of California requires CA companies to file both a Quarterly Contribution Return and Report of Wages (DE 9) and the Quarterly Contribution Return and Report of Wages (Continuation) (DE 9C) each quarter.

Employers may be confused thinking the DE 9 or DE 9C is the Federal 941 form. However, it is not. If they filed the DE 9C they must also file the Federal 941, 943, or 944 form.
